Not only should we morn the morality of killing those babies, we should morn the economic problems it has caused.

As for the "economic problems it has caused", well, i don't really think we should mourn that... it's more of a CONSEQUENCE for allowing such evil to be done in our society. There are consequences for actions, and this is one we have to live with.
It will probably never go away completely even if it's banned but proper comprehensive education and easy access to tools and knowing how to use them correctly to prevent unwanted pregnancies would go a long way in reducing those numbers. Also more people adopting kids of every color and age would make people feel more comfortable in that as an option.
