I used to actively search for other pagans, but I don't anymore because they're usually two bananas short of a bunch. I've found it really hard to find sane rational middle-of-the-road pagans in my local area.
So I just don't try anymore! Besides, I seem to get along with atheists and agnostics pretty well.
Yeah, that's kinda my problem. See, all of my "real life" friends (all four) are saying the same thing: I'm too shy and hermit like. So, I'm trying to branch out and become more like a tree than a stick.
I heard that. Finding decent, non-crazy Pagan groups seems almost impossible around here. I just started venturing onto mailing lists again to try and connect with some like-minded folks after a two-year hiatus recovering from my LAST disastrous group experience.
And if you're of a shamanic bent...you also have to deal with all the New Age crap artists. :P I have pretty much written off finding a decent group of like minded folks.
I started a pagan group in my home city. It worked too! If you are on pagan forums alot you need to do a search for local people then PM them to see if they are interested. Also make up some flyers for any occult shops around. It does take effort but I met lots of lovely people and even my partner through doing it. j xxx
