Letting the two of them run a country together would be an absolute disaster from start to finish.
Ha, that just made my morning afternoon. It'd be an impressive disaster though, and it'd be as entertaining as everything to watch it all snowball out of control while they both freak out.
3. I'm by no means advocating uncritical adoration, but the lengths to which some people vilify the creators of shows they profess to love heart and soul amaze me.
The thing I find most interesting about that, as least as it applies to 'tWW'? Many of the people who are complaining about Wells, and screaming "Bring Sorkin back!" were the people who did nothing but complain about the majority of the developments in third and fourth season and saying "Sorkin's got his head up his ass!" Sometimes, I felt like I was the only one watching the right show, and the majority of the fan base was checking out an Ed Wood imitation.
Hmm. That would definitely explain all the complaints about the lighting.
Seriously, the mood swings some people seem to have about this show are just completely screwy. It's like Sorkin's either allowed to be the best writer in the universe or the worst in the universe, and it's not possible to hold any opinion in between. I'm amazed by how many people have conveniently forgotten that they just spent two years trashing everything Sorkin even thought about writing, and all of a sudden they were his biggest fans all along. It's just weird to me.
10. I think anybody who ever takes any aspect of fandom too seriously to laugh at themself should be slapped with a fish, Monty Python style, until they get over it.
LOL. This should be put on the front page of LJ, really!!
1. I find smut very boring. Depends on the smut. If it's what I call 'X & Y smut' (when the names are the only thing that places you in the fandom, there are no actual nuances of the characters) then I skip past it. If it's well written and the characters are in character, I'll usually read it. It not being there never detracts from my enjoyment of a story and usually raises it.
