Shockwave sorely wished he had a reasonable answer for his lord. His position in the army was to be one of Megatron's reliable source of information, advice, and trustworthiness. Failure was not an outcome to accepted in this war, but Shockwave was at a loss. Their current position defied all logic, and became increasingly puzzling as time went on.

"Apologies, Lord Megatron. Appearances indicate we are currently on Cybertron. However, there seems to be anachronistic details in place of the energy-deficient planet that plague modern Cybertron. I am certain you are likewise reminded of a Golden Aged Cybertron, correct?"

Barricade heard the comm and the magic words 'Decepticon' and 'Megatron'. Oh. This was going to be...interesting. The Starscream he'd met had looked nothing like the silver jet he remembered: he could scarcely wait to see what surprises this Megatron held.

He revved his engine, setting out for the coordinates given. His little hideyhole with Swindle--probably gutted by now if he figured that mech right--would have to wait. Too many Autobots in the area, and safety in numbers. He'd spent two long years on Earth being the one on the run, vastly outnumbered. He did not care for a repeat.

//Barricade, inbound.\\

“Indeed. It is just how it once was, only barren.” Truly believing Shockwave was his best source for getting some of his questions answered, Megatron was disappointed to learn the Guardian of Cybertron was just as clueless as he.

Megatron received the comm from the inbound Decepticon, but did not recognize the designation “Barricade.” He sent a reply confirmation ping anyway; he almost expected the unknown mech to be another strange looking one like Scalpel or the red Insecticon. Speaking of Scalpel…the warlord wondered if the medi-bot had received his comm signal; the neck cables that Prime had damaged had stopped leaking some time ago, though the whole area was a mess. It needed repairs, along with other sections. Being restored to full operational status was a high priority on Megatron’s list.

Starscream decided that this was easily becoming one of the most frustrating vorns he had experienced in recent memory. He had just lost out on a perfect opportunity to boss someone around just as his own moron of a boss decided to announce his presence.

Activating his thrusters, he took to the air and begrudgingly set his destination for Megatron's coordinates. He decided that he could hardly ignore a direct order, especially after he had ignored Shockwave's distress signal. It wasn't like he had a choice in the matter; he didn't want to rush his inevitable rendezvous with the Decepticon commander, but he certainly wanted to show up before Barricade if only to spite the groundling.

//Starscream reporting, transmission acknowledged.\\ He knew he must have sounded positively thrilled - with his luck that vorn, Shockwave would probably be with Megatron. Double the aggravation.

Inferno saluted, oversized weapon tapping against his forehead.
"Consider it done, my Queen."

His own Royalty or not, it wasn't of importance. As he had stated before, he shall wait for a time to have his own conversation with this grey Queen. Surely, he thought, she must know where his own is being held.

He turned on his heels, damaged tail knocking him off balance slightly, and headed to the doors. Inferno failed his own Royalty already, he will not fail again.

Scalpel approached the location on foot, skittering rapidly over the metallic substrate. He saw the Bot outside the doors; he was not as massive as many Decepticons Scalpel knew, but still much larger than Scalpel himself. His exostructure was most intriguing; the closest comparison Scalpel could draw was to that femme who had sometimes served Megatron over the last thousand stellar cycles. She, unfortunately, had been disinclined to allow Scalpel to examine her when he had encountered the crew of the Nemesis over the course of their Leader's quest.

The bot did not have any visible Decepticon brand Scalpel could see, but neither did he have an Autobot sigil.

Scalpel trilled to draw attention and then spoke authoritatively, as when making a lecture, "You zere, activate ze door controls." Back in New Kaon, Scalpel had wireless command over the doors and devices of his operating theatre, but it did not seem to be true here, as he had learned in the Mass Transit System.

A voice broke into Inferno's concentration; or at least, whatever concentration he seemed to have pacing back and forth in front of the metal doors. He squinted and looked around, unable to find any mech to attach the odd voice to.

But... still, his systems were detecting life nearby. An invisible intruder? Inferno's newest weapon was cocked instantly, waving around into the night air. "Show yourself, intruder!" He barked out, stepping forward in case he was just missing the mech. "State your business now or else you will burn before reaching the Queen!"

Inferno stepped a few more paces forward, completely passing the small doctor. Surely the mech had fled by now. After all, who would dare challenge the Royalty's most loyal? He spun on his heels, prepared to march back to base when he saw him. Those tiny, beady red optics, long spindly legs...

"Arachnid! So you are the intruder." Inferno hissed, practically mowing the tiny mech over as he ran to protect the doors. "State your purpose, arachnid. Are you a friend of the colony?"

Scalpel waited. If he was not truly patient, then he was jaded by the treatment. It was of course not the first time his stature had caused one with a dim processor to fail to notice his position. Often, he used this to his advantage ( ... )
