*beams* Oh, I am SO HAPPY that you enjoyed this, because without you, I never would have even CONTEMPLATED Shiva/Tim being anything other than crack. (Brain is still a little broken over the whole thing, but in the best possible way.)

And. It's probably wrong that Tim comparing Shiva to Dick was utterly natural to me that I didn't even think of the !!! factor until it was pointed out to me. But. It's Tim.

I'm just glad all those things worked. Because. It's TIM. and SHIVA. and together they are even more terrifying than they are seperately.

Very nice indeed. I would've liked just a little more set-up in terms of Tim's sexual/romantic attraction, more of a sense that Tim sees her as a person, as opposed to a collection of traits. Shiva is, perhaps, more elusive than you intended in this. If it were gen, you'd be fine, but as it isn't...

Anyway, ymmv.

*grins* Okay, now that I've gotten over my first wave of "omg amazing ficcer read on my fic," I think I can respond (semi)coherently to your comment. :)

See, I saw Tim's inability to form a unified collective out of the traits he observed as a signifier of his attraction. His (unasked for) feelings were creating biases that he couldn't quite overcome - and were at least part of the reason that he justified overlooking the less... savory aspects of Shiva, at the time. (I do tend to err on the side of subtle even in my non-gen pieces.) But. *shrugs* This is the first time I've really tried to write Tim, so I'm not surprised if everything doesn't mesh properly yet. :)

This totally leaves me incoherent with happiness--I LOVE the way Tim approaches Shiva in this, trying to break her into classifiable parts even though he can't do it perfectly and his TONE is perfect.

I lovelove the last two lines, it's a wonderful wrap-up for the fic and then this line:

I keep saying that Tim is terrifying, but... I just can't step away from that for a second, especially in the context that this fic was written in. Tim and Shiva together are simply a beautiful, terrible thing to behold. I'm really happy that the Tim voice worked - this is actually my first real attempt to capture the boy - and I'm just thrilled that you liked it!
