Every single one of Bellatrix's gestures is menacing and full of unspoken threat, especially when she's holding baby Draco. I was fightened for him for a moment, but Lucius came though to save him. The end was so not what I expected from you which makes it doubly more exciting and happy. Lucius love his son. *happy sigh*

I'm glad Bellatrix came across as threatening - she was suprisingly understated as I was writing. And I'm glad you thought I would go Other Places with the ending, but you know how I feel about my Malfoys - they're loyal to none but themselves. Thank you!

I would love to see characters outside the core characterized to a greater degree, but at the same time, I kind of enjoy the freedom that ambiguity produces. :)

Favourite line: They weren’t young, not anymore, and the thought no longer terrified him as it once had.
I can so see Lucius being afraid of growing old. That just fit perfectly - and I like the thought that it's because he has Draco to carry on his evil ways ambitions.
This was a fabulous piece. Loved it.

Out of all my fics, the Malfoy/Bella/Gaunt ones are the ones I really have to be in a certain mindframe to write, and I guess that shows. :) I'm really glad that the sinister edge came through sharply - Bellatrix fascinates me, through her fervor and her commitment, and she's threatening in a way only a zealot can be.
And I can see Lucius as a vain youth who only really becomes the sort of man he is by the time canon rolls around because of fatherhood.
I'm thrilled you liked it! ♥
