A most interesting D&D session

So I play Dungeons and Dragons fairly regularly since college. There was a year or so during college where I didn't play which actually put me into a bit of a funk. I think the scenario was more interesting for the others. I was pretty bored. My character had exactly one attack and no special abilities to speak of. The only "special" was the ability to move through spaces occupied by enemies smaller than me. Given that I was *also* at the whim of another character, who was in *turn* taking instructions from your character, my experience at the table was simply, "roll dice and wait for my next turn." I felt like I had no input on the flow of the battle or anything.

Yes, that was likely intended. No, it wasn't particularly enjoyable.
