I heard they were doing this movie and I groaned. Not that I was a huge fan of the original, but Mr. Miyagi was awesome and it's just one of those things, you know?

Cut to yesterday, when I took my Little Sister to the movies. Kid's eleven, from a single-parent household, and is a little bit shy sometimes. She saw the trailer, all wide-eyed, and was like, "I can't wait for that one to be out." You're pretty much right, it's not really a movie for our generation. It's a movie for hers. And hey, I got to explain to her why I was giggling so hard at the radio playing "You're The Best" in the background at one point.

Honestly, if you want to get the full effect out of movies like this, or Alice in Wonderland, or even that goddamned Chipmunk movie, watch it with a kid. It's kind of awesome, like watching through two pairs of eyes.

Sadly I don't really have any children of the movie watching age to do such thing. Except for my inner child. Luckily that seemed to work for Alice in Wonderland. I'm really hoping it'll work for 'How to Train a Dragon'
