So for those of you who don't know, Silent Hill is getting a "remake port" to the Wii.

I'm excited.

I'm also a little nervous that they'll change it to be more in line with Silent Hill 2, which everybody loved however I found to be a little emo. That being said:

The following is a movie made by the escapist featuring Silent Hill. Very amusing. ( Read more... )

Oooh, the first Silent Hill? YES. Even if it's changed, this is likely to be the only way I'll ever get to play it!

...even though I keep scaring myself after playing 2 for fifteen or twenty minutes at a time. And am too scared to try 3 or 4, even though I've owned them for years.

I suck.

Ha! I finished two a few months ago. I've played through 1 like 4 times. I'e played about 4 hours of three and then my PS2 died and I just haven't gotten back to it. I own 4 and its never been played! And I own Origins for the PSP.

I own 1. We could somehow figure out how to get you playing it. I still hold it to be the best of the series so far. Three (what I've played of it) seeming to follow suit fairly well.

I absolutely love the concepts of the games, and the monster design is a thing of beauty. The thing is, I'm a huge coward when it comes to games. I think it's the interactivity level, since I never get as freaked out reading or watching a movie as I do when playing or watching a freaky game.

I tried tracking it down years ago, but I could only ever find it for like eighty bucks on Ebay, and the PS1 memory chip I'd need is even more expensive.

Well you have a PS3 right? PS3s play PS1 games even if you don't have the backwards compatible version. And they emulate the PS1 card. So no need to worry there. We'd just need to figure out if there was a way to copy a PS1 CD so that your PS3 could play it... I wonder if its possible.

There is also emulation. Which is hard to do without a PSP...
