There's an old quote among comic book artists that every artist has ten thousand bad drawings in them, and once they have drawn those they can start doing good drawings. I don't think there is a similar phrase for writers, but there probably should be ( Read more... )

i feel ya... i think there was the age when i was too young and full of confidence that i didn't realize i couldn't sing... then the age where i realized i sang out of key at least once a song, then finally the age where i decided to try and do something about it..

anyhow.. i tend to be my own worst critic as well and nothing can put me in a funk as realizing something i thought was FUCKING AWESOME actually (fucking sucked..)

feel like it took 10,000 shitty songs before i found my voice.. and by the time i did i'm lamenting being in my mid 30's

youth is wasted on the young..

the funny thing was, b/c of competing in martial arts i was a total fitness buff in my 20's... didn't even get to waste my youth on being wasted, and now my body is more tore up do to old injuries than anything injested.. fuck!!!
