A Really Good Day

Yesterday turned out to be a really good day.

To start with, Chris revealed that he had a huge bag of shelled peanuts in Harry Potter's Room* which he had previously purchased for the housing association's bird feeder, but the bird feeder fell apart and they wound up not replacing it. Huh. To my knowledge, pure henna doesn't leave a metallic build up. It's just that a lot of products that have henna in them (Lush, for instance) combine the henna with metallic dyes and other stuff in order to try for specific shades, and those are what cause the build up and react poorly with bleach and often other dyeing processes.

It was confusing figuring out that there was no such thing as dark henna, there was just henna that had been mixed with other things to darken it. Pretty much the only safe thing I know of to mix with henna to adjust the coloring (adding things like paprika and such can change the short-term tone of the henna but not the overall shade, usually) is natural indigo.

But yay for the awesome deal on the pretty hair!
