Among others, my antivirus software wasn't patched for over a month and I still haven't been able to fix my printer because I'm home for the summer.
So yeah. My expensive printer/scanner/fax/copier with extremely high quality product because that's what I paid for when I knew I'd be into digital photography? Useless.

But why is there Vista in the first place?
Windows XP had turned into a cost for the Microsoft now as it at last starts working and people just wish for updates... So nothing to sell to boost the quartal results of the major company but only costs for serving the customers. So they needed something new to sell! Vista was not developed because we the consumers needed the upgrades they came up with it but because their in-flow of money was decreasing...
They do not care if you or I have a problem with our other accessories while changing the operating system... and so long as we don't make a row "en masse" they never will.
So true and so sad. Why do we not fight against this?

And I'm a poor undergrad for another two years, then at least a year of a master's program. I can't afford to switch all of my technology. :-/
I'm too busy trying to cover (on top of school and med bills) how much it cost to get my computer fixed last time. I could have bought another computer for how much of a bitch that was.
