I love that this chapter is dedicated to the Doctor's internal struggle. His mind is such a maze and I think you've done well articulating the madness that he's trying to maintain a grasp on.
I have to say that you have me completely and totally frightened for Rose's well-being. It has been so easy for her to distance herself in the name of self-preservation, but she's pushed away too much - and the Doctor is certainly in no condition to reach her. They're both such a muddled mess of pain and longing right now, and they're so wrapped up in doing what is best for the other that they're driving themselves mad.
Now, please understand that I must hurt you though for ending this chapter on such a cruel cliff-hanger! Absolutely evil of you! : )

I think I've said it before, but your writing is wonderful(*is sheepishly very jealous!*)!
I can't wait for the rest! You are going to give them a little lovin' aren't you ?, at the end?..it feels like they both deserve it!! This poor Doctor has been through a lot with you! and so has Rose! It feels like you need a bit of light in all this bleakness!(enjoys your bleakness a lot,though ;P)
