The task that Daemon lays out for Mouse and YT is simple enough: allow the Word to spread to its fullest extent. To that end, YT is sent off into the 'Net carrying a list of IP addresses and a copy of Mouse's encryption codes.

The CPUs are preparing for battle, checking over their weapons and vehicles one last time. From one of the highest islands in Floating Point Park, Bob watches, feeling helpless. The firewalls won't keep Daemon out for long--and the sensors say she's got the entire Guardian Armada backing her up.

No matter how this goes down, a lot of people are going to die today.

And there's not a damned thing Bob can do about it.

She had been looking for him. Stalking wasn't out of the question, it was just harder.

Why was Bob looking so sad? Maybe Hex could cheer him up.

"Hello, cheekie," said a Hex from behind Bob.

Bob just about jumps out of his skin. "Ah! Hex! I--I didn't hear you there."

She smiled and sat on the hood of the car.

"It's a Virus thing, we're very light on our feet. What's up?," she moved in next to Bob, "Can I help? I'll do anything for you."

Hoboy. "You can't help now, Hex. You've lost your powers."

"I could power up again," she said as she leaned on him.

"And go viral? Nonono!" Bob stammers nervously. Partially from the suggestion, and partially from the fact that Hex is basically in his lap. "I prefer you as you are--a sprite."

Hex almost kissed him at that moment. This was gonna be fun.

"Oh, you noticed," she said closing in on Bob and his face, "So you're a Sprite and I'm a Sprite... you know what that means."

She smiled at him beguilingly.

Hex pushed him over, dear this was going to be fun.

Hex kissed him. Mmmmm. Nice.

"mmmf!" Bob tries to yelp in surprise, but is muffled by Hex's lips on his. Eventually he manages to break the kiss and gasp for air.

"Hex! I--w--ah--we c--we can't--what the--"

"Oh, you always were a silver-tongued one," she said stroking his hair. Taking it in as a thing of beauty, " Mmm, silver haired one as well, come to think of it."

Bob squirms more. "B-but Dot... she'll--"

"But Dot what?" asked Hex unconcerned.

"She'll--if she sees us together, she--"

Bob is having a hell of a time just trying to form coherent thoughts, let alone a coherent sentence.

Hex was having too much fun with this. She leaned in and kissed Bob again.
