But... I don't fully agree with this passages idea of romantic love. I se romantic love as passionate love. Passion is something that I value greatly. Not just a passion for living and and life but passion for that right fitting other person.
I like the idea of a spiritual connection with everything but even more so of one with the greatest depth being between two incredibly close people.
I can feel so connected but so many other people seem to be so afraid of that. It boggles my mind. People want it but when it's there I have seen them not belive in it's truth and just run. I don;t understand. I thought that it was what we were all really looking for.
This is a neat passage. I will save it to look upon more.

Yes, PASSION. You can have passion for any of the above types of Loves. You can have a passionately possessive love. In fact, most people who loves that way tend to think of themselves as "passionate". However, I think that "passion" you're talking about is the powerful, intense emotion between two people, which to me, is simple "love". I do tend to agree that a Romantic Lover is an unconscious escapist, but that's just from MY observation.
Also, Love and Relationships are 2 different conversations.
I'm a big fan of the Tao, and of Zen. For a long time, I thought the Eastern philosophy was the only place to go to find a lot of the ideas that I attempted to practice. Western philosophy, it seemed, was very "I" focused--big on the place of the individual in the Universe, not on the place of the Universe in the individual.
Then I was lucky enough to come across the mystical roots of western religion. The parts you don't really learn in church (if you're some branch of Christian) and I don't think are taught that much in Synagogue (for the Jewish faith)--I'm sure other western religions have similar writings, but I've been focusing mainly on Judeo-Christian background stuff mostly so far.
Anyway, there is an entire school of magickal thought that states: "Love shall be the whole of the Law, Love over Will." Now, that's been twisted around by an occultist of two to read "Will over Love" in some places, but with a bit of reading, that can get straightened out pretty quick.
