Right. I can follow that capitalism would be the resultant economic system, but at first glance, it would appear heavily socialistic, until you realized it wasn't enforced. But then again, it is enforced, since divine law would be the same as earthly law, in which case, it would be socialism, since the bible commands you to be both productive, and giving to others in need.

I'm fairly sure that's a typo on Matt's part, especially since he was trying to quote me. ;-)

What I said, in a nutshell, is that the fundamentals of capitalism are not compatible with true capitalism. A truly Christian society would be socialistic, which is what Matt was saying -- he just accidentally said "capitalism" when quoting me. So you're right, Billy, and I'm pretty sure Matt agrees.

... and I just noticed that my comment made almost as little sense... "the fundamentals of capitalism are not compatible with true capitalism." Right. I meant the fundamentals of Christianity are not compatible with true capitalism.

socialism won't work because people are just that, people.
however, what the soviet union had was not true socialism.

capitalism sucks, but it's the best thing i've seen so i say go for it.
