Title: The Space Between (Time Between Meeting and Leaving) Pairing: Jim/Bruce, eventually. Rating: PG-13 for now. Word count: 1789 A/N: second part today, since it's my last completely free day in the foreseeable future :)
You, along with Hitokaji, are making me a big fan of Montoya...really liked the dialogue between her and the Commissioner.
...36 dead...38 attacked altogether...one just woke up from a coma...wait, I know I'm not the best at math, but should I be looking out for the other survivor? Are you going to blindside your readers with a 'surprise?' Hmmm, stupid question. You'll show us, when you show us...
Things are getting better yet intense too! I wonder who in the MCU is behind this. :O Montoya is so adorable, as always. What would Jim be without her? *giggles*
The interaction between Gordon and Montoya was great, as usual :)
“It gets better,” Batman said after a moment, his voice more hoarse than usual, rough with some emotion Jim couldn’t decipher clearly. “You’re making it better,” he added, his gloved hand briefly resting on Jim’s shoulder before he moved back, the slightest gesture of comfort meaning that much more because of who was offering it.
My all-time favourite part in this chapter. Aww :)
You know, I often find casefics a little tiring after a few chapters, even when they're well done. But this one is moving along at a perfect and very natural pace. It's that well executed balance again. :-)
