If its done right it becomes more than just the face or figure, it somehow seems transcendent.
Since most current photography is without depth of field, contrast or even content, taking the color Out of a picture, usually just leaves it flat, without dimension.
Its sad but classic, film noir, camera obscura, chiaroscuro photography seems to be becoming a lost art in itself.
