The weekend after the march in downtown LA, Amy and I drove up to Sacramento for a protest at the State Capitol. Northern California is like another state altogether. There's actual seasons, people chant for "equality" instead of "equal rights," decent public transit exists, there was an ice rink outside... strange strange land, I tell you. Back on the 15th, Amy, Courtney, Pam, and I went to a prop 8 protest in front of LA City Hall. Protests had been organized in front of city halls throughout the country for this day. LA's protest had an estimated 10,000-12,000 people in attendence, down considerably from the expected number but still impressive considering the reason attendance was ( Read more... )

Looks like Amy and I are going to drive to Sacramento next weekend for a big protest at the capitol. We are crazy for the civil rights!

Not out protesting tonight. Feel like I should be but, at the same time, I'm starting to feel really worn out from all I've been doing this week. Plus I ended up having to stay late at work.
