Oh, I love this one! Clayton's one of my favourite minor characters, I'm so glad he's getting some love in the fandom ... and it's a beautiful viewpoint on Horatio's actions as well -- I love your wording in this. Really beautiful.

Yes, I love Clayton too- as you will have guessed! And so far I have not written him in any way. Comes of being a) awake ridiculously early today and B) a bit full of champagne( I know it should have been gin) later today.

Thank you for what you said - and I will start thinking of a sonnet sequence which could inspire a video ! :)- trouble is that they by their short nature tend to tell one or two moments only.

Oh my, this one's really wonderful. You're captured Clayton perfectly. I agree with kittycallum Clayton is a fascinating character and one who has been sadly neglected of late. His humanity and his sacrifice are so important to both Horatio and Archie's stories.

I love the line "you were born maybe to amaze us" and the final couplet (do sonnets have couplets??) is just brilliant. *deeply impressed*

Thank you very much - I was actually anxious that this wasn't really Clayton so I am glad if it does seem to be him.
I agree that he is apparently neglected lately- maybe hes due for a reinvestigation!

yes, sonnets do indeed have couplets - or at least Shakespearean ones do -they have three sets of 4, and then a couplet - but I tend to set them out as you have seen in 8 and 6
