Fangirl to larboard !

As they don't say on British Airways - still this fangirl is off on the larboard side of the plane today to spend a Whole week with the lovely and wise volgivagant at her home. Which means of coures that Admiral Lord Exmouth is also off to spend a week with Admiral Lord Collingwood

We did have a lot of fun and we sent you a postcard- also we wanted to send fond greetings via a bug cruise vessel from Basel which was moored at the bridge on the Moselle
as for the admirals they rather approved of the Pfalzer beer, Volgivagant's excellent cooking, the endless sunshineand held a mild disagreement over the presence of a lady captain on my flight over...

though as many wine bars beer cellars and ice cream shops ...

The admirals were too busy enjoying the weather( And the beer and the Apple strudle ) to misbehave - though they both were uncertain about our river boat being overtaken by a French and and Dutch barge in turn - we persauded them that invading the bridge was however not a good idea and as the bar did a good line in cold white wine they were untroubled ultimately ...

Ned and Cuddy enchanted various waitresses with their best old fashioned good manners and found the two chairs on the patio in Volgivagant's garden just ideal and the cold beer even better.
They were rather excited to have a week to reminisce about people neither of them could stand and other subjects of mutualk satisfaction !

Good thing Susan wasn't around

nor Sarah either ...but the boys didn't realise at first quite the effect of the uniform and the old world language - however I won't say they didn't press the advantage when they did realise :)
