I am so glad you love it, and yes it was a long chapter. Thought about splitting it in two so that there wouldn't be months between an update, but in the end I think the flow really dictated it stayed as one.

I feel redundant saying this was absolutely amazing, since the sentiment holds for every part of this fic, but this really was amazing. I love that you've continued to experiment with the structure and I think the two different time periods and POVs really worked.

Your characterization continues to be spot on. I especially appreciate that your characterization of both girls has been further carried out by the secondary cast of characters. Hilary's insights into how Kimberley operates and how much she impacts everyone else around her were imperative to understanding why Kimberley would go along with staying with Justin. This was by far my favorite part, and I think it certainly rings true for GA in reality:

Hilary knew this. She also knew that she needed Kimberley on side for the sake of Girls Aloud. If Kimberley walked, that was the end. It was like a right of caste among the five of them. She may have had fewer lines, a voice without the vocal dexterity of say Nadine’s or the star power of Cheryl, but she was still the lynchpin of ( ... )

Wow, thanks so much - I like the pic the most too, it actually looks like Kimberley. She's hard to draw without looking like a cartoon character I have discovered!

And yeah, I do think Kimba is core to GA as a band in real life. I just can't imagine Cheryl or Nicola sticking around without her.

I'm just basically speechless. Thanks for this and for the length of it. It's just so fucking well written, accurate with their personalities, realistic and intense. I don't even care we had to wait for so long to have another chapter, it was all worth it.

Thank you and I'm so glad you're finding it realistic, and it's holding your interest! I fear my epically long bouts of silence have basically killed off most of my readership but it makes me feel good that there are still a few hanging in there.

I know of at least one site where your fic is the overwhelming favorite. I'm not sure that your readership has lessened, just that not as many people are leaving feedback.

And as much as the wait between updates kills me at times, I think it ultimately works in the long run for this fic since it is so influenced by what's going on irl. The wait certainly provides you with plenty of material to draw from.

ORLY? Aw, well that's lovely to hear, thanks. I think, as ego-boosting as feedback can be (and it really really is!) it is pretty useful when you're just sending something out there on the internets that you haven't tested on anyone beforehand to get some sort of idea as to what is working for readers and what isn't. Afterall, I don't want to plough on with something that no one is actually enjoying or feel could be better "if only I did this" etc.

But saying that I wouldn't want to force some sort of response either. That's why I keep the entries unloked here and at GAM. It's up to people to decide if they want to comment and I'm very greatful when they do!

The wait certainly provides you with plenty of material to draw from.
Oh, but to have some real life Chim. They're like ships that pass in the night at the moment. I miss them. And I really miss GA.

I know! But not as long as the wait for the previous chapter, think that was over 2 months.

Anyway, today I made a bit of a breakthrough, which I'll prob write about later. The short of it is, I now know more or less where this fic is going.

I kind of stumbled over your LJ and.. wow.

Not a Chim-shipper myself at all, but this is one (if not the best) of the best fics I have ever read, so much that I had to read all your previous Chim fics. Actually, I had to print them out so as to read them while I was in my way back home (there were like, 200 pages).
You write them beautifully yet realistic, and their personalities are very accurate - it's so good altogether.

I'm definitely addicted to your writing, which really surprises me because GA fics are usually crap.

Waiting for the next chapter!

I just noticed the comments above say quite the same as me.

Wow, well, what can I say? How awesome that a non-Chim shipper can still get something out of my stories. I am chuffed to bits that you liked it so much and hopefully you'll enjoy what's yet to come. Thanks for the lovely compliment.
