More painting on my Tau army today, mostly focused on my gun drones and Devilfish, along with my first foray into inking. Given the Tau's armor design, I have a feeling that I'm going to get intimately familiar with the process. Fortunately, I like the results, and it's pretty easy to do.

So I'm painting my first minis in over 3 years as I begin work on my Tau Fire Warriors.

I forgot how stiff being bent over a fig makes my back. Oof.

I'm also busy re-learning my paint:water ratios and how to do fine details, since I think 40k figs are at a slightly smaller scale than the last minis I painted.

So, my week off of work ends tomorrow, and Monday, it's back to the grind.

This morning, I had a dream in which the crew of the Battlestar Galactica were under attack from the Tau. The Tau couldn't understand why the gue'la were fighting, as surely joining the Tau Empire in service of the Greater Good was preferable to the suicidal defense they were mounting. This weekend, kbrighton and I got together to start constructing our Warhammer 40,000 armies. I had a Crisis Suit Commander and the Tau Battleforce boxed set to put together. Out of 37 models, I got 20 of them done before I ran out of superglue.

I know have the Tau Battleforce box in my possession, along with a Tau Crisis Suit Commander. This weekend, kbrighton and I will be having a mini assembly get-together where we'll assemble our respective armies. One step closer to actually playing WH40K again. :)
