Our old DVD player had developed an odd case of signal distortion - if there was too much white/bright color on the screen (over 75% - think of the Construct from The Matrix, or the system failsafe from the end of season 2 of Lost), the signal would start distorting so badly that our HDTV would lose the signal. I think you now have the same DVD player both Richard and I do. If so, congratulations, it completely and totally kicks ass.

You can also watch other region-coded DVDs on it. Theres a code you can put in to change the region of the DVD player. When I'm not on my way to work, i'll look for it for you, if you're interested. :D
