Title: Stranded
Pairing: Jin x Resha
Summary: The good side of a storm
It has been raining non-stop for 2 days now and it was still a mystery why the classes weren’t suspended yet. Much to Resha’s dismay she has to walk around campus to get errands done. Again it was a mystery why the offices she needed to go to was not in the same building. Then she passed by the soccer field, a place she used to frequent, not that she stopped going to see the Blue Lightnings practice, its just that her current boyfriend was from another school, from Meiji to be exact so she’s spent most of her free time away from Aoyama.
As she strolled along, she thought he eyes deceived her. She thought she saw Jin in the middle of the field under the rain. She blinked and blinked and still the figure in the middle of the field didn’t disappear. After a few seconds of deliberation, she concluded it was Jin. She tried getting the other’s attention, but the said person was so focused in turning the ball into pulp with every hard kick it gave the poor thing.
Damn you die!
Jin thought as he kicked the ball hard into the net. After losing to his kohais the weight of everything else started to sink. It seems that he’s losing (in every sense of the word) and he can’t event do anything about it now. He suddenly laid down the field and let rain shower him and hopefully drowns his misery with him. Out of frustration he yelled out. “MAMA CAN I DISAPPEAR NOW?!”
“If that’s how you’re planning to disappear, you’re not doing a good job” a voice suddenly said making Jin open his eyes and found his Mama staring down at him with a towel in hand
“Mama?”
“Are you expecting someone else?”
Jin just blinked in reply not sure what to do. It’s been a long while since he’s been alone with her, and he was trying his best to detach himself from her and now she’s in front of him, how the hell was he supposed to that now?
“Jin get your butt off the ground, and get out of this rain!” Resha exclaimed as she extended her hand to help Jin up
“Ma-Resha what are you doing her anyway? Shouldn’t you be inside where its dry” he replied accepting the helping hand
She ignored the fact the he didn’t call her Mama which was weird hearing her called by him like that
“I was about to, but then I saw you, so here I am. By the way what do you think you’re doing under this rain?” said Resha as she dragged Jin across the field towards the locker room
Jin didn’t bother answering; somehow it brought a smile to his face. No matter how much denial he does, he still can’t erase the fact that he missed HIS Mama.
When they reached the locker room, Resha knew exactly where to go to get fresh towels, and spare clothing. Immediately she threw it towards Jin and ordered him to take a shower and into dry clothes.
Resha released a heavy sigh and started thinking how Jin was an over-sized baby, her over-sized baby. It suddenly dawned on her how she missed the other, how she used to do the most odd things to get him to attend calculus and how to make him study after hearing the word ‘exam’. Long story short, she missed goofing around, she missed Jin. Period.
Resha hadn’t realized that she’s been staring into nothingness until Jin tapped her shoulder
“Ma--- I mean Resha are you alright? You just spaced out”
“Huh? What? Yeah. It’s just the weather. Come on let’s go we don’t want to be stranded here when the rain decided to pour even harder”
As they headed out to the field, water started coming in and when they reached the field, it looked like a sea of mud. Jin was about to make his way through the flooded field when she stopped him
“You are not going to walk through there” she warned
“It’s alright; it’s just mud and a whole lot of water” he replied and attempted to cross again
“I said no Jin, we’re going up” said Resha as she dragged yet again Jin but this time to the bleachers, though not covered (she has an umbrella so it’s all good) at least they were high up and away from the flood. Now sitting beside each other under one umbrella, it felt weird being this close again. They both shared intimate moments with each other under everyone’s noses. So when Jin instinctively got an arm around her she didn’t cringe or budge, it felt very normal.
"Do you remember how I used to chase around this field when you don't want to do your math homeworks?" as she stared at the now flood filled soccer field
"I do." Jin replied pulling her into a hug "I miss you Mama"
Resha didn’t give a reply and just leaned into his hug while holding the umbrella
“Mama why did---“ Jin was about to say something when her phone rang. He was about to let her out of the embrace when Resha just ended the call
“I would rather her the sound of pouring rain that someone’s voice” said Resha as she leaned in closer
“Couldn’t have agreed more Mama, couldn’t have agreed more”
