it seems a lot of change is going around with a lot of people, myself included.
I hear you on the sudden wake up call on getting old(er). When Peter Christopherson (Coil, Throbbing Gristle) died last month, it hit me harder than I had expected, and it gave me a small shock to the reality of age. One thing that I do notice though, with our generation, is that there is about a 10 year lag with the age thing. More and more I hear 40 is the new 30, and I tend to believe it, just due to the mere fact that I am coming into my own right about now, as I turn 40 next year. I also hear that our generation will most likely tack on 10-15 more years of life, if not more, in general. Who knows if it is true or not, but I like to think we are improving with technology, to some degree. 69 to us *is* young, though I am having a hard time coming to terms with being "middle aged" right now.
Yeah, it's funny, I have no problems at all thinking of myself as 40. 41, now. That seems okay. It's just thinking of 69 as dead, then I'm like "whoa, wait a sec, gimme a couple more turns in this game". I also get a little wigged when I think of a "recent" relationship as having ended X years ago, I'm like "X? That's forever, and I've hardly changed since then" kind of thing. So, yeah.
