Speaking as someone in their 40s who looks around them and sees all these people my age being nothing but banal and boring, neutered versions of what they once were, I can relate. I "still" listen to music supposedly for people half my age, play wargames & paint miniatures, play and run RPGs, and when people look down their nose at me, I just shrug and say "I'm not the one growing old, here," to myself. They have more money than me, but think of what they've sacrificed to get that money--and not be able to enjoy it because they've died inside. Not me. I may not be a wild and crazy guy, but I'm still young at heart. With the bonus/burden (sometimes) or perspective.
