It had been awhile since Donna had been in touch with Dean. She was still no closer to tracking down the Doctor and getting back to her own page on the calendar. She was beginning to think that maybe she would be stuck here forever. It wasn't so bad, but she missed her grandad, and she missed the Doctor ( Read more... )

Vampires. There were days when he wanted to go back to thinking vampires were a myth. He'd let Donna know that yes vampires were real and not like sparklepires. Thank God. Dean changed his plans only a little and headed toward the Maine town.

Donna was turning into a decent hunter but vampires were a different class. Besides, if vampires were making a nest in Maine, he'd want to check it out. Dean had a six pack with him as he knocked on her door.

Donna looked through the peephole to see who it was before pulling the door open with a smile. "We've really got to stop meeting like this." She stepped back, holding the door open so he could come in.

She'd once again turned a wall into a collection of papers, doodles and notes. She was getting pretty darn good at the whole research part.

"Sorry for dragging you out here, but I thought you might want to take a look - and I wasn't really sure how to deal with it. Pretty sure garlic omelettes won't do the trick, right?"

"It would be nice if it did. Crosses don't do shit either." All Hollywood hype, sadly. He pulled out a bottle of beer and handed it to Donna as he came inside and looked at her research. "The only thing to guarantee kill one is with a machete or whatever to cut off their head. And they don't just disappear in a puff of smoke like in Buffy either."

Again sadly. It would make his job easier if they did.

She accepted the beer, opening it she took a swig. Her consumption of alcohol always seemed to increase when she was with Dean. "So, no wooden stakes dipped in the blood of a virgin plunged through the heart then? Well, at least we don't need to find any virgins!"

Donna imagined that a) it'd be hard to find a virgin in this day and age and b) killing one would be very illegal and very immoral.

"So, you've dealt with vamps before then, I guess?"
