PART EIGHTEEN: "What kind of man does that make you? No kind of man I'd want to be."

You tell 'em, Luke.

In these clips, Luke is well on his way to catching up to Will's growth spurt into puberty. He's nearly grown to Van Hansis-size. He's like - interim-Luke size. And he's pissed off, people. His mom and his dad are self-absorbed assholes, and he's not happy about it, and he's got a lot to say. I love it when Luke's angry. I ( Read more... )

Thank you for this Luke Re-watch! I wasn't watching at this time. For some reason, I recorded GL but not this. These clips really made me miss ATWT, actually, soaps in general. I don't watch ABC and they moved Days on Soapnet, so I just have to watch the Sonny/Will clips.

Watching these clips of Luke, all I see is Kim Zimmer (Reva Shayne).

The actor really does look like his mother, doesn't he? :)

Yeah, these made me sad for the good old days of soaps, too. I hear ya!

It is funny how much Jake Weary looks like his mom. I kinda remember the sort of mini-scandal when JW left the part because supposedly KZ didn't want her kid to play gay because it would hurt his career but I never really understood why some folks had such anger at KZ. Even if that is why JW left the role, he was pretty young and that's a big decision for any actor to make. YMMV

Luke's love of striped shirts apparently has begun.

I loved Luke's verbal beat down of Holden in the first clip. Holden was put in his place by three separate people in these clips but still thinks he's golden. Can I call him Papa Douche?

I always thought Luke got his ability to blackmail from Damian, but we see here that Lily can do the job too. Carly is quite the loyal friend here. Her helping Lily caused all sorts of problems (again) for CarJack.

Jake Weary had a great run as Luke, though I would have loved to see how Van would have handled these scenes.

Please do!! No wonder Luke was willing to put up with so much from Noah! Look at his role model!

I loved Luke's verbal beat down of Holden in the first clip. Yes! Luke was so awesome here. A lot of times, teens are written as petulant and spoiled. But Luke's actually in the right here.

And I love how Holden gets so self-righteous with Jack that he tells Jack that he'll find Luke himself. Cutting off his nose to spite his face. Plus, did Holden arrange for someone to come over and watch Natalie and Faith before he stormed out of the house in a huff?

Lily was awesome when she was all tough and blackmail-y. Then she had to become a big, gigantic spazzoid.

Jake Weary was really good as Luke. It was actually pretty bizarre to see Luke go from Jake Weary-size to Van-size, lol.

Didn't Holden leave Lily because she'd gotten tied up with Craig Montgomery, even though she wasn't actually cheating on him with Craig? Like how he left her because she got too tied up with Dusty, even though she didn't start sleeping with Dusty until after Holden dumped her? And of course at the end of the show, Holden left Molly at the altar to 'save' Lily from Craig. Oh Holden.

And oh Carly, how I love you. She's an amazing friend, even if she kind of fails as a responsible adult by letting a child get involved in a cover up from the police. I loved it when Lily and Carly are/were friends- we needed more female friendships on the show.

I remember having to make a big adjustment in my head when they went from sweet young Luke to angry teenage Luke. I really liked Jake Weary in this role; I think he was about 15 when he started, and for his age, he was terrific.

Love the Carly/Lily scenes as well as Emma and Jack (!) telling Holden what they think! I always thought TPTB didn't know what to do with Lily and Holden at this point and knew they were still extremely popular....Lily was always crazy or close to it and Holden was only thinking with his dick most of the time from here on out. I always thought it was a shame that the writers didn't have a little more imagination!

I also enjoy older bro Aaron being concerned about Luke. Too bad they rarely had scenes together. Luke could've used his supportive big brother more often!!

Jake Weary did a good job as Luke but he was so angry all the time. He does look just like his mom. Aaron is just so pretty to look at. Van made Luke his own though when he took over as Luke and he brought the pretty.
