Last night I discovered that HR 358, the aptly-nicknamed "Let Women Die" act, passed the House, 251 to 172. All of the Republicans - minus two women, and seven who were probably out campaigning - voted for it.

I cried for about an hour.

Obama said he was going to veto it no matter what, if it magically passed in the Senate though. Which it won't since the Senate is flooded with Democrats.

It's still disgusting. People should be allowed to safe health, pregnant or not. Pregnant people hsould be allowed to make reproductive choices. EVeryone should.

I know it's not a viable bill, but somehow that doesn't make it better for me I guess? Like, there are 251 people, ostensibly elected to protect my best interests, who think that acting in my best interests = letting me bleed out internally if I dare try to end a pregnancy myself, because I deserve it.

Feels bad, man.

I truly do not believe that most people I didn't vote for are acting in my best interests, especially if any of those people are men. Gonna just be blutn about that , but I have been drinking this morning

I will be honest, part of the reason I've decided I don't want to be a mother is because a) I am afraid of being pregnant and b) I don't think this a place worth bringing children into.
