[Before Giles even knows what he's going, he's out of bed and at the clinic door. It's about that moment that his injuries and exhaustion catch up with him, making him stagger with the pain.

Damn it all to hell. The former Watcher simply sounds tired and defeated when he speaks.]
[He knew leaving her unprotected was a bad idea. Rationally, he knows there's no way he could have done anything. The droids, unlike the simulations, aren't going to be easily repelled, or even distracted. He can't offer himself up in their place.
He's still angry that there's nothing he can do.]
A-Ami... g-good luck, for yourself and your f-friend...! [He remembers, vaguely, seeing this girl before - from the very first experiment they had. Usagi. Ami's close friend. Ami's important person.
You're strong - I know you and your friend will be alright... [There's more conviction in Robert's voice than he thinks he's entitled to feel. But any hesitation would mean his words wouldn't get out in time.
Chances are Ami will already be taken by this point. But this is making Robert really want to finish some sort of real tracking device for people, to somehow figure out where they're taken.
For now, he just hopes Ami and Usagi won't be treated too badly, and resolves to keep a sharp eye out for either of them.]
[Mulder starts running, but who's he kidding? He'll never catch them on time and even if he did... the droids always win. He doesn't even know where he's going.]
[No. No, no, no. Ginia's seen and heard the kidnappings, but this is the first time it's been someone she knows, someone she considers a friend. Even if she doesn't know the location, she's out the door. It's a futile search, but she'll try anyway.
