After watching the mini Monday night for the shipper re-watch, I got the urge to go back and reread (for the millionth time, yes-your point? ;) ) some of the first great Kara/Lee fics I devoured found in the BSG fandom, and especially those set before or during the mini. Daphnaea’s writing style just kicks my ass. This is so beautiful. The scene in the middle of this one where Kara confesses a secret to Lee just guts me every time.

These are mostly all classics. But man if you haven't read EVERYTHING Daphnaea and BrynnMcK and Claira have written? You absolutely should make it a priority. (Same with wisteria, leda13, widget285, fahye, rawles, and svilleficrecs.)

OK, so Decline and Fall is one of my all time fav fics. i must have read that story about 4 times. Wonderful job elzed!

"Decline and Fall" is one of my all times favorite fics too. And frankly, I prefer this version of them betraying Zak than the awful near-frak from canon.

Pre-mini fics own my soul. Seriously. I have so much love for these stories… They were the first kind of K/L stories I read when I discovered fandom-land and made me fall harder for Kara and Lee… Maybe because they portray younger --and relatively angst-free-- versions of pilots with everything I love about them: the banter, the UST, the cuteness, the fun, the flying, the chemistry... Besides, I’m always been fascinated by all the different perspectives of the Zak + K/L attraction/guilt issue...

Lovely, girl, thank you! I'm not sure I've read "Every Time My Heart Beats" (or at least not all of it, as it does sound familiar), but I adore the others for sure.
