I realized the anniversary is coming up when I looked up the start date for my Top 50 of 2010 post! I better start thinking about some awesomeness to celebrate, yeah?

Would you guys be up for a mini ficathon/porn battle, just pilots? (It could be all kinds of fic, so those who don't like/write the smut could still participate.)

Seeing how this was my first and only year in fandom, can I say EVERYTHING! Never have I felt more welcome and appreciated that I have in the last year. The Kara/Lee fandom is an amazing group of people who not only share love for pilots but adore all of the crazy pilots-related fic and icons and vids and crack that they can get their hands on. I adore our fandom more than I can express in words. It fills my heart with love and joy on a regular basis.

I have singular moments that have thrilled me, particularly going to Dragon*Con and putting names to faces and experiencing the amazing thrill of being in a world of people who are just as crazy about fandoms of all shape and form as I am. Oddly, or maybe not so much, my favorite part was getting to wear my shipper pins and paraphernalia every day showing my shipper pride. LOVED IT!

I've also loved the bsg_pornbattle. No, let me rephrase. I FRAKKING LOVE THE PORNBATTLE AND I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS IT! It has to be one of my favorite events in fandom. <3<3<3<3<3

I've only been here a little over a month and with my past experiences in other fandoms I KNOW it dies a slow cold death especially after a few years time with the books/movies/shows being complete.

So my delight in finding these awesomely active shipper comms was a complete surprise, but highly rewarding. PILOTS shippers are amazing! True story. :)

Dragon*Con!!!!! Always such a blast. It was so great to meet you this year, and I can't wait to hang out again!

I know I already said this, but yeah, it's just so amazing to me that participation is still going as strong as it is in these here parts. And so much of that is due to newer people, like you, and the enthusiasm you bring to the ship. THANK YOU for that!

2010 for me was also rediscovering my love for the ship, much like QoT said above.

After the poof needed to just spend time away from it, till my anger subsided and I can look at something BSG without wanting to throw something lol. ;)

Agreed! And the newbies, whether they know it or not, bring so much to the table with their enthusiasm alone. They are a big reason our corner of fandom is still as active as it is. Love it.

Well 2010 was my first year in this comm and really discovering fandom all over again. I loved that there were so many pilot shippers still around.

I was not really into fandom when the show aired and when I did a rewatch this year I was immediately reminded of why I loved them so much.
