The Lusty Month of May (prompts post)

Mar 27, 2011 13:34

I am still of two (or three) minds about how to do this, but here goes. songhay  had a lovely suggestion about a fic duel over set quotes (see comments to last post), but I feel I am not up to it for this first outing. However, I think it will be our next go; sometime this summer. (And songhay , I'd appreciate your help setting it up when the time comes!)

And to get us started...

The story I've started is for the prompt 'cherry blossoms.' So that's one.

How about--

John explains the Easter bunny and chocolate eggs to Delenn
April showers, or alternately, sprinkler system
spring planting ceremony/ritual

any lyric from It Might as Well be Spring: sample

'I'm starry-eyed and discontented, like a nightingale without a song to sing. Oh why should I have spring fever, when it isn't even spring?
I keep wishing I were somewhere else, walking down a strange new street, hearing words that I have never heard from someone I've yet to meet.
I feel so gay in a melancholy way, it might as well be spring.'

YAY for spring and YAY for prompts!

As I fully intend to write on at least one prompt once we see what comes out, here are a few I'll offer in return:

Spring Cleaning
Something about Daylight Savings Time - Do the Minbari have it, do they have something similar, do they mark it with a ritual, etc.
John reflecting on his favorite part of Minbari spring - preferably set at least 5 years after moving there.

I think this will be worked into the one for songhay's erotic poem :)

I think I'd like to try my hand at this one, please. It's a bit unclear to me if it was actually claimed, or whether the poem fit this prompt in addition to another. If it's gone, that's okay too.

Oh please do take it, that'd be great! It was an add-on to my story for songhay's poem prompt and can be left off. The prompts are not exclusive btw, the more the merrier. I was just trying to get something for each prompter.

Spring Equinox Prompt songhay March 28 2011, 00:03:43 UTC
Valen said "The Spring Equinox Festival provides a way to connect with Minbar through food, creative activities, workshops, music, ceremonies and folklore.

Spring celebrates the awakening of nature after winter, a time of new growth and potential, a time for all that is new and possible, a time to let go of whatever may be hindering our own growth!

It is a time for meditation to bring us out of our winter period of reflection, and make a symbolic planting of seeds representing our intentions, wishes and goals that we will nurture and grow over the coming months - a true celebration of rebirthing your life and nature itself!"

What form would such a festival take? How will Delenn and John spend their first Spring Equinox (feel free to create a Minbari sounding name)on Minbar?

Erotic Spring Poetry about Roses in Bloom Prompt songhay March 28 2011, 01:36:46 UTC
S.A. Sheets wrote a poem entitled "I Love to Lick Your Rose."

Write an erotic poem from John's POV or a short fic in which John adds a naughty love note to Delenn's Easter basket explaining how he loves to lick her rose. (LOL)

Likewise with the blushes! The story won't be as...interesting and a little off topic but that's how these things go.
