I’m new to the whole natural living world. It’s gross how much gunk I put in my hair on a daily basis. So, the baking soda is no problem. I have a huge Costco size box of that in my cupboard ( Read more... )

Apple cider vinegar is apple cider vinegar :) The more expensive one is probably better for eating taste-wise, but the Albertson's brand should be good for no-poo. Its all made from apple juice. Its really only white vinegar you should look out for - I always make sure they say "distilled from grain".

yeah, it'll work for the time being, but it might leave a stronger scent. i know heinz is really smelly, so i leave that stuff alone.

I splurged when I got my ACV and coconut oil and picked them up from an organic food store. The white vinegar I use for dandruff is whatever DYC puts out.
Some brands seem to smell stonger than others, but I don't think it makes much difference, except to your nose.

My HFC sells ACV with the mother in bulk for something like $0.89/lb. You might poke around and see if you can find something similar. I just love the fact that I can get mine like that. :-)
