Hello, hello! I'm glad I found this community.

So I've tried this before, with baking soda and lemon juice, a couple months ago and I was enjoying it, but about a week and a half in I stopped for no other reason than I got super lazy one morning and didn't feel like mixing up the baking soda/lemon juice solutions so I just used as little shampoo and conditioner as I could manage, and that's ( Read more... )

Why don't you like using new bottles, if you don't mind my asking?
And do you mean bottles like this? http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?searchId=20873998&itemIndex=1&CATID=70189&PRODID=10024022
That was the kind of thing that came to mind for the baking soda. I was reading a couple entires on here that say using a spray bottle for the ACV rinse is handy because you end up using less of it in the long run?

I didn't think water only would mess anything up. My only concerns are that I'm kind of going cold turkey from shampoo to nothing, and like I said in the entry, I'd love it if my hair was atleast starting to get used to this by the time move-in day rolls around.

Instead of going from shampoo to nothing, you could switch to just conditioner. It has less of those harsh ingredients.

Well, that's why I was asking, because I'm not staying water only. I'm only doing it long enough to pick up a couple bottles, which should only be another five days.

Thanks, though, I didn't think of that. :3

I use little squeeze bottles myself. Found a three pack at a local Chinese housewares store for 2.99. Cheap as old chips which is good. So I have one for the BS, one for the rinse and a spare. The nozzle hasn't clogged up so I think you'll be fine with them. Recycling older squeeze bottles that had previous lives is also a good idea but I found these little ones work just fine.

Yeah, I thought about it after and realised that the BS solution would have to be pretty ridiculous to gunk up at all quickly. Thank you for your input. :D

I use an old honey bottle (the bear shaped kind) for my baking soda. It's amazing. And also adorable. Perhaps you could drink a lot of tea the next few days and decimate your honey supply? Or, you could go extra hippie and start making granola by the pan-full (that's actually how I use most of my honey. Mmm, mmm ( ... )

I was using cups for both the BS and the ACV [which was lemon juice then] last time I started this, but I was away at school then. It was alright. But I do like the idea of squeezy and spray bottles because then I can control how much of what goes where on my head. Specifically with the baking soda, I wanted to get the kind of bottle I linked to in an earlier comment, because it's got the nozzle opening, and I could direct it precisely onto my scalp and roots. And then just spray the crap out my head with ACV. I don't know why my mom doesn't want cups in the shower. Probably because we don't have any plastic ones here, only glass, but it's such a small issue that it's not even worth disagreeing over ( ... )

Look at it this way, as long as you show up with wet hair on a regular basis, no one will ever know that you're the "girl who doesn't wash her hair" because they're not in the shower with you to see what you're doing....... or not doing. :)

lol you're right. And there's always corn starch/baby powder if I need a quick fix.

Once again, another post indicative of attention-seeking? How old are you seriously?

You know who gives a toss if you are known as the "girl who doesn't wash her hair."

Do what you want rather conforming to what other people expect.

lol gee good thing you were around three months ago when I posted this and was totally like "wow I hope somebody snarky shows up."

Not snarky at all just truthful but if you want that opinion than I can handle that.

All you people think you have a wonderful little "community" but it's a load of tosh quite frankly. Quite frankly the online community concept does not exist.

Look after yourself and only yourself.
