Strangely I find ACV (and white vinegar but ACV is worse) not too good for my scalp too. It definitely makes it worse, which is different from most people's experiences, as you say.
it washed nicely, but my hair still smelled a teeny bit of scalp.
I've tried the flax seed wash a few times now, and this is my main problem with it. My hair never got stinky with ACV, even if I went weeks at a time with WO. Now I can't get the musty scalp smell to go away, even though it's been about a week and a half (and two ACV rinses) since the wash.
I like how soft it makes my hair, but I don't think it is going to work out for me.
Maybe it's the hibiscus. I used hibiscus, chamomile, and cloves in mine.
I can't use vinegar, either. My allergist told me that fermented foods aggravate fungus growth for a lot of people (which explains why I itch for several days after using indigo), just like when you ingest them, and for me it seems to be true.
