To those of you who have used red wine to enhance your red hair, what exactly did you do? Straight up red wine? Diluted? What were the effects? Does it matter what type of wine (cheap, aged, etc)?

i used red wine in my henna mixture once, and it actually didn't do anything. actually, that was a time when i also used dr. bronners before my henna, and i think that did something to keep it from taking, cause no color deposited at all. i was so dissappointed. i used red wine, beet juice, red zinger tea and cloves and none of that worked. :-( i think it was the alkalinity of the dr bronners. so i can't truly say that that mix doesn't do anything.
