Clarice likes Milliways a whole lot better now that she's not stuck here.

And it's different, actually, than it's ever been-- she spent most of last winter in Lecter's head, as far as time around here is concerned, and she missed a lot of the snow. So when she's outside, and the ground's carpeted with white, and the trees are bare except for the snow that the wind hasn't yet knocked from their branches ...

Well. It's certainly nothing to sneer at.

Another good thing about walking in the woods in winter, she reflects, aside from the general scenery, is that you can see the stars pretty plainly if you just look up. She knows the woods can get dangerous, but she's not far in-- and besides, she's run the trails often enough without incident. She isn't worried.
