XBox takeover

There's a new sponsored community, morefun_xbox360, and the main LJ site itself (http://www.livejournal.com) has a green XBox skin instead of the regular blue LJ banner for logged out and unpaid users.

ETA: This is apparently a US only campaign!

Only in the US? When I try it, I see the regular dark blue LJ banner on the logged-out home page. (Not sure whether this is due to the German language setting of the browser I tried it in or to auto-detecting my IP as being in Germany.)

I found that so annoying, building an ad that deep into the layout. Especially with it being the "answer" to that day's writer's block question!

Bits of mumbling or "oh, LJ" roundabout, but doesn't seem to have made a big brouhaha.
