Official but not Sponsored Comm?

On the front page today, LJ is advertising the first "official" Panic at the Disco community on lj (patd). As you can see, it doesn't have the sponsored community icon... What do you think this means? I've been told in the past that the word "official" would be used to denote a sponsored community, on the userinfo and elsewhere.

I don't see the words "sponsored community" anywhere on their page, so I guess that means the band did not pay for all the bells and whistles that go with the sponsored community, like help setting it up. But does that make it any less an ad?

I don't know. People have pointed out before that bands, businesses, and whoever have always had the right to put up lj communities, just like any independent citizen. I guess I'm just wondering if they paid LJ anything for the right to use the word "official".

I don't feel strongly about this situation one way or another, I just think it brings up some interesting questions.
