Safari

1. Like with Netscape, use Notepad or another text editor to create userContent.css containing the text in the box.

Small correction: OS X's default text editor is called "Text Edit" and it is included with the OS X software, in the Applications folder. We don't have Notepad.

(Have already nixed the nav strip in both Safari and Firefox, as well as in my user layer. Thank you for the help. :))

Thank you. There shouldn't be any silly copying/pasting now. :)

OS X's default text editor won't work for this. I would know, I'm on OS X. Text Edit, as far as I'm aware, WILL NOT SAVE PLAINTEXT, which confuses me to no end. Rich text, Word, Word XML Formats won't work, and I'm pretty sure the HTML format won't work either.

The only text editors I'm aware of that are included are command line text editors that can be used through Terminal--nano, vi, emacs--but explaining how to use them is rather lengthy if someone is unused to operating on the command line. If you made your plain text CSS with Text Edit, I'd love to hear how--I just don't see it as an option in the "Save As" menu.

In any case, unless you know how to do that since I don't, what we should probably do is point them to the provided CSS downloads.

Sometimes Apple really does drive me nuts.

yes it does. o.o ... i think...
  1. Open TextEdit
  2. Format -> Make Plain Text (or Shift + Command + T)
  3. Type document
  4. Save document
  5. And you're good to go

About Stylish instructions:
"If you don't already have it installed, go to this page and click on "Install Now". It's going to warn you about possible evildoers who want to install things, but wait until it lets you click on the "Install" button. You'll have to restart your browser after it installs.

Then follow these instructions:"

Why not giving the link to UserStyles.org again? I think the instructions to install manually should be kept but not as the first and only method. It's a bit silly. :)

You're free to change it however you like--it was late and I didn't expect to have to do it, but I wanted to make sure if they already existed, we had a solution.

Since it's based on Internet Explorer, Avant Browser is as secure as Internet Explorer.

Hehehe :)

They're putting CProds in the NavStrip now?

Oy, vey.

That's NOT two great tastes that taste great together!
