I'm pretty sure that puts us in the clear to start explaining blocking solutions, but not absolutely positive. I'll have to think on it a bit and hope that maybe someone will outright tell me, haha.

My extremely tired brain tells me that this does not change anything. The definition of 'tactics and technologies' is now more vague. That's all. You're still screwed with the 'include but are not limited to'.

But the whole point of the change was to reverse the ad blocker ban, no?

Also, there's now nothing that says "providing". Just employing. So theoretically, that would mean it was okay to talk about it, even if you couldn't employ it. But, well, they don't have any methods in place of figuring out whether you're employing them or not, unless you come out and tell them.

The language also is much more focused on site-side ad inhibitions, as opposed to browser-side.

IMO, ad blockers still qualify as "tactics and/or technologies to prevent the full and complete delivery or display of advertisements on LiveJournal pages."

It would. Does it? I'm not sure. It seems stupid.

It is a very evil thing to choose sponsored and then finding a way to block ads. Thus forcing others to see ads and not viewing them their selves. Especially free basic users and early adopters.

If it was me and I had a say, I would make something in the sponsored accounts to verify I (if I were a sponsored user) see ads. Not every time but randomly. Like a check here box. And if the user does not check the box required to say on their front page of their journal, it disables something like say those wonderful icons they are getting for free!
