I will not yet post spoilers. But that might be a lie. I can sense my utter desire to put up a livejournal cut and just BRAINDUMP a whole bunch of stuff in here

I LOVED IT particularly the snape/lily parts all that internet spectulation about that relationship for the past 9 years all turned out to be true! yeah, and i knew that snape had to be on the order's side because of the line "the world's not split into good people and death eaters" i can't wait to go reread it
Even though I didn't read the last couple of books, I was a huge fan of the first few. Since I had no investment, I had no problem reading the online spoilers in advance, and I must confess supreme disappointment that Harry did not die.
Really, wrapping everything up with a happy ending where all the main characters survive and get married off and live happily ever after? For me, that's just not true. That's not the human condition. Endings for works as grand and as appreciated as the Harry Potter series have to be bittersweet at best. Yes, the main characters can survive, but where are the wounds? Harry Potter shouldn't be "freed," by the death of Voldemort. If anything, his scar should be an even greater burden; it's the reminder of pain and irretrievable loss

I'm not going to respond to this, because I'm particularly fiesty today. In a bad way.
However, Harry deserved to be "freed" by the death of Voldemort, in my opinion. He lived 17 years of his life in pain, without parents, and with many of his close friends dying all around him. So much was sacrificed in order for the Wizarding World to remain intact. I think you ought to read the books before assuming that Harry's continued life will be an easy thing, a storytale ending.
