You notice how that after 'The End', things between Dean and Castiel got a little lukewarm? I think it wasn't Dean being mean to Cas but that he realized that it was his own influence that probably helped Cas become the hippy drug addict we saw. His rebellious teenage years, as you so eloquently put it. So he backed off, in hopes that he wouldn't have that impact on Cas.

But now Dean is at a crossroads. This is that loss in faith that could push Cas over the edge, driving him closer and closer to that future and Dean could do nothing, just let him be or he could step in and do something to save Cas before he gets to be too broken. It's all on Dean now but knowing the writers, they won't do crap with the goldmine they have laying in front of them.

The bastards.

I've heard a lot of blab about how Dean is being mean to Cas lately but quite frankly I'm not seeing it. I'm seeing a man who understands but it's too close to home, it’s too much of a can-of-worms to open. He can't get close because the closer he gets the more inwards he'd have to look and he can't do that.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. That makes a lot of sense, and seeing it expressed so straight-forwardly makes me feel a bit better about the whole thing, or at least a bit more understanding. *hugs to all of them* :(

Well I'm glad at least one person got some coherent thought from this. xD I re-read it just now and realized I didn't make a lick of sense and had all bunch of jumbled emotions lurking in there too. Pleh.
But thank you <3. I'm just happy some good came out of this.
Oh, boys. :sniff: :,c
