Hey there, eljay. Been a while.

Just got back from a delightful trivia-for-charity night hosted by John Hodgman at the Bell House (kudos to scrunchy for being GREAT and participating!). At the end of the night, Kevin Kline and I were standing on the sidewalk, waiting for our cabs and smoking in companionable silence (shuddup), which was pretty much the perfect ending to a great weekend ( Read more... )

Loved reading what you thought about the Stoppard, just got back from seeing Arcadia in an absolutely incredible production in Toronto. Fantastic work on so many levels. I saw it two years ago and it's stuck so firmly in my head that when they announced that it would be back, due to demand, with the original cast and set I just had to see it again.

So with you when it comes to Agents of Shield and like you cannot wait to see Agent Carter. *makes grabby hands* Did you see the pic Hayley Atwell posted of Dominic Cooper with red lipstick kisses all over his face. It made me squee in delight!

Ooooh, Arcadia is THE BEST!!!!! And how amazing that they brought it back, complete cast and all. It's such a brilliant play; I discover new things every time I see it or read it. There was a production here a few years ago, quite good though it didn't knock my socks off; and this year there are two Stoppard shows on Broadway at the Roundabout alone (The Real Thing is exquisite, btw, and it made me fall in love with Maggie Gyllenhaal). What an extraordinary body of work, really. ♥

And no, I haven't seen that pic! Must look it up tonight. I did, however, buy the lipstick she tweeted about - the "official" red Peggy wears in the show. It's gorgeous.

It is and as you say, each viewing or reread leads to new things which I adore. I'm actually planning a sit down with the cast next spring to discuss how revisiting the play impacted them. I think it'll generate a lot of interest. The only thing they were unable to recreate in the remount was the audience entering the theatre via the set, which I found added a whole extra layer to the production. However I think the actors lengthy acquaintance with the work has added it's own extra punch to the play. As one of the actor's said to me "I'm a year and half older then I was when first I played this role and that made a huge difference ( ... )

Oooooh, the audience entered via the set?! That sounds amazing. And I'm envious that you'll get to talk to the cast about it! I hope you can share some thoughts from that discussion. :)

It took a bit of digging, but I found her tweet - and in a more recent pic of her dressing room on set, this photo is taped to the mirror. TOO CUTE. (Ahahahhaaaaa, his face!)

The lipstick is a serious red, creamy and good quality, and it smells amaaaazing. I don't normally wear reds without some blue tone in them, but for this one I'm making an exception because it's so... ATTITUDE, rather than vamp; you know? I'll take a pic next time I have it on!
