I don't know if we talked about my Norman Reedus fangirling days! But I have a whole, um, page of that shit on my website and also, er, one time I transcribed the entirety of Dark Harbor just for the lulz. Also I forced a friend of mine to watch it with the director's commentary (which was not available to me) so I'd know what the dude thought about his little masterpiece. And what a treasure trove of hilarity that was!

WAX. PLEASE GIVE ME ALL THE LINKS.

Can I flail in your general direction over his character basically being a femme fatale? And that scene with the "do I make you nervous" and the FINGERS JESUS CHRIST HOW WAS THAT THE HOTTEST THING IN THE WORLD???

*flailflailflail*

(Now I need to rent the actual DVD so I can listen to the commentary, obvs.)

I even wrote like half a story at one time.

Anyway! Here's my little site: http://www.waxjism.org/norman/

We mock most of Dark Harbor viciously, but get distracted by Norman's hotness a lot. The comments on the director's commentary are towards the end of the ~review.

...only half a story? :D

I spent some quality time with your gallery, so THANK YOU for that. Hahaha, Dark Harbor seems to be a completely different experience when you watch it knowing what's gonna happen at the end. I had no clue and loved it - makes more sense than many of Hitchcock's plots, actually - but yes, that commentary sounds hilaaaaarious! Oh Alan. OH NORMAN. <3

(Did you know he's on twitter? OMG WHAT.)

Your summary of Cymbeline = :-DDDDDDDD I still very deeply want to see it performed -- I missed it when it was at Chicago Shakes in 2007, and I'm deeply sad about that!

I've never seen it before, and this was a very well done production! I hope you get to see it at some point; it's such a CRAZY play. :D

Ah ha ha ha, Dark Harbor. I rented it on VHS aaages ago (i.e. Pre-fandom) and had no idea what I was getting into. It was like, Alan Rickman, yay! Um, and badminton, okay... And... hallucinogenic mushrooms... And... He's naked? So perhaps it us time to watch again and fight with friends about its oddity.

Hehe, it's basically a low budget love letter to Hitchcock; think Vertigo or Notorious - there's a tradition of weirdness in thrillers. ;) It might be too slow for this weekend's party, otherwise I'd be tempted to include it... but our dance card is rather full anyway.

(I just can't understand why Rickman went with an American accent. How did anyone think that was a good idea?)

That John Singer Sargent portrait of Ellen Terry as Lady Macbeth is one of my all-time favorites! I had no idea that the costume itself was so unique. As a sometime-costumer, I'm in utter awe of its original construction and its restoration.

Oh, cool - I was really impressed by that dress but didn't think anyone else would care. Glad you liked it! It's an extraordinary creation indeed.
