DOCTOR WHOOOOOOOOOOO

Apr 24, 2011 00:36

I had the good fortune to see the first two episodes of this season earlier this week, at a special screening in Brooklyn, and my brain is still sort of... um... exploded from the experience. THIS IS GOING TO BE AN AMAZING SEASON, Y'ALL.

A few thoughts - spoilery only for today's ep, I promise!

Rachel would get *so indignant* over the way *everything* connected to the Doctor becomes uncontrollable as a matter of course. And Art would hole up in his office with River and a full bottle of whisky within seconds of her arrival on the scene.

...*SIIIIIIIGH* *continues to ponder*

*FLAILS IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION*

And the Doctor would take one look at Boyd and be sort of vaguely reminded of the Master. :D

This episode was epic. I watched it twice tonight with a friend (well, to be honest, we skipped note with the Silence in the second watch be size they were TOO SCARY OMG) and there was so much packed into this episode, both literally and metaphorically.

One thing we think we caught... the set used in the tunnels that River discovers... was this not almost exactly the same "alien control room" that we encountered in The Lodger last season?

To summarize: omg so fricking excited, and Matt Smith is awesome.

I think I need to see it a few more times, just to COLLECT all the details; packed indeed! My poor brain - no wonder the scene with the NAKED DOCTOR was simply too much to, uh, contain after the first viewing. :D

You're right, the control room in the tunnels did look like the setup from The Lodger! I remembered it as soon as River touched the globe thingie. It's too evocative to be set recycling, so I expect we'll hear about the connection to the previous season at some point. Good catch!

OMG THIS SEASON OMG. AND OMG MATT SMITH, HOW SO AWESOME.

Raylan and the Doctor would have ALL OF THE ADVENTURES! I can see 11 being VERY FRUSTRATED with him. "YOU CANT JUST SHOOT EVERYTHING RAYLAN! GUN! DOWN." No lie? I think Raylan is actually Mal Reylonds' great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather too.
