Macadamia nut pancakes, definitely -- sweet and fluffy, hard nibs balanced by the soft batter, odd yet delicious, and FULL OF NUTS.
*g* I missed the credit and wanted to know who wrote this too, so I checked on IMDB during one commercial break: Matthew V. Lewis, of apparently only "Euphoria, Part I" fame. Which I hated as much as I liked this one. Guess his third episode will tip the scales.
Oh my god, why haven't I friended you yet?! And I have reasons beyond the TheirLoveIsSoNutty-type commentary. Honest!
I'm choosing to hope that young Matthew *adjusts monocle* wrote "Euphoria pt. 1" under strict instructions from TPTB, since it was the first of two parts; and therefore he couldn't quite spread his wings the way he apparently did in his own standalone ep. (Yeah, yeah, I just never learn - always going the too-optimistic way when it comes to the shows I love.)
Oh my goodness, I don't know either, and likewise, but now it's been remedied. At least from here on out I won't keep forgetting to swing by and see what happy and ranty things you've been posting about, with House and SGA (which I'm only just starting to dip into, thanks to Sheppard/McKay fic) and fic recs and random squee and slashy social gatherings happening a mere LIRR ride away from my house or place of employment. Look at all this stuff: Shaw/Wilde play, Coast of Utopia, BAM trip... *yearns*
Optimism can be self-preservation, though, right? If you're afraid the show is circling the drain, believing the best of the writers is a healthy defense against total despair. :) I haven't hated the show as much as you have lately, so I shall still withhold judgment on Mr. Lewis until he writes another ep, if he writes another ep. (I did read the IMDB page wrong the first time, and thought he'd written "Histories," which made perfect sense, except on second glance he was only an assistant to the producer or director on that one.)
Gotta keep this brief because I'm not feeling very well (meh), but: yay, you're local! I usually post about suggested fannish events and then take the actual planning over to email, so please let me know if you're interested in coming along at any point. It would be terrific to meet you. *g*
Another yay for getting into SGA - oh, it's so addictive! I didn't expect much when I started watching it because, well, it's a mediocre sci-fi show; but the fandom is EXTRAORDINARY, and the characters continue to fascinate me three seasons and counting... which is quite an achievement. Let me know if you need recs or DVDs.
Now off to make more tea and pass out for another few hours. See you around!
