Ukitake was grateful that Iruka didn't live up any flights of stairs, because he had no idea how to get up them with crutches. He had one bottle of his prescription painkillers in his pocket (he could always get another by telling his doctor he'd lost the last prescription) as promised as he knocked on the door Iruka shared with Orihime and Tatsuki and waited patiently for an answer.

When she heard the knock at the door, she was on her feet in an instant. "I'll get it," she said, knowing it couldn't be comfortable to move with bruised ribs.
"Hello!" she said as she opened the door. Her dogs all perked and wagged their tails at the newcomer. "You must be Jyuushirou! Come on in."

Craning back a fraction, Iruka peered around Hana and the stampede of dogs (who were certainly more well behaved than he had ever thought anything with four legs could be) at his newest guest.
"Ukitake! Yes, come on in - sit down. That ankle can't be good to walk on yet," the teacher said with a fair degree of cheerfulness as he capped his red pen (just for the moment of course) and twisted around in the chair to fully look towards the door. "Hana's being an angel and helping with my marking."

"Hey Iruka" he replied easily, pulling the pill bottle from his pocket and balancing on one crutch, "I brought you a little present!" Jyuushiruou grinned at Hana again at Iruka's words, "Seems you're as kind as your brother, then."
